1991
1995 - 1997
Continued to introduce new banana boat designs including the six and ten passenger side by side configurations. Selling mostly thru distributors, Aqua Sports Technology grew to become one of the largest international suppliers of beach inflatables, selling direct to many of the top beach hotel resorts worldwide. Aside from distributing inflatables, NDI was deeply involved in other facets of the sporting goods industry. We contracted as manufacturing consultants and factory representatives for Asian factories in the days before cell phones or the internet. Our experts worked with our US customers on factory floors to develop OEM branded neoprene and inflatable products for distributors in the ski accessories industry.
1997 - 1999
With the World Wide Web in its infancy, Aqua Sports Technology had the vision to secure the web domains www.banana-boats.com & www.watertrampolines.com and trademarked the name Island Hopper™. Soon after, the first Island Hopper water trampolines were introduced exclusively to several large retailers in the USA.
2000 - 2005
In 2000, we patented our first of 10 products by developing the” Sport Utility Towable”. In 2002 we expanded our line of Island Hopper banana boats by incorporating heavy commercial materials and state of the art reinforcements that are still considered some of the best in the watersports industry. In 2004 Aqua Sports introduced the patented “Red Shark” banana boats and in 2005 the patented Turtle Hop and Turtle Jump water trampoline lines.
2006 - 2007
In 2006, we introduced the patented Gator Bounce & Slide. 2007 developed and patented our line of Six Whale Ride Banana Boat. 2007 introduced what is now our bestselling water bouncer lines starting with the 13′ Bounce & Splash.
2008 - 2009
2008 was a transitional year. The Island Hopper brand was now well established with the largest internet retailers, our focus was to expand into children’s outdoor products. Hiring some of the industry’s best designers, we introduced our first designs of Island Hopper recreational bounce houses and continue to focus on development of this market segment.
2010
NDI purchased the R.U.Outside brand name and web site www.ruoutside.com once again focusing on diversifying into new market segments in the sporting goods industry. The R.U.Outside brand enabled us to develop and manufacture quality winter sports apparel and accessories with emphasis on the US Snow Mobile market.
2012 - 2015
In an effort to update and advance our line of commercial beach inflatables, Aqua Sports Technology introduced our line of high performance Island Hopper “Elite Class” banana boats and water trampolines. Aqua Sports Technology searched out the newest high performance PVC materials and manufacturing methods to produce what is now recognized by many professionals as the best commercial banana boats in the water sports industry.
2015 to present
For 28 years, Aqua Sports Technology has built and sold thousands of quality products to satisfied customers worldwide. We promise to continue listening to our customers’ needs and strive to develop safe, quality products. We will also continue to be loyal to our people who share our vision and business success in our daily lives.
