Aqua Sports Technology uses a high quality “inflatable boat valve” on our banana boats and water trampolines. This valve can be used with most power inflators or the foot pump that is supplied with every banana boat. If you want inflatable boat valve attachments for your personal inflators or compressors they are available online. Google “Inflatable boat valve PSI adaptor” and you will find many options.
Check our helpful video on how to use your inflatable boat valve with any inflator.
To open the valve, simply pushdown the yellow-topped needle spring and turn to the right while in the down position. The needle spring will stay down and the valve will be open. You can then simply butt any power inflator or Shop Vac up to this opening and fill the trampoline or banana until firm. Once it is firm, quickly remove the inflator and push down the needle spring and turn to the left – it will pop back up to the closed position.
How much air is the right amount? In general, the banana boat or water trampoline is full when it is very firm. An adult should be able to sit on the tube and only sink a couple of inches. Banana boats need to be full of air and properly maintained for long product life. In order to properly inflate and maintain tubes, you must have the proper equipment.
Banana boats, water trampolines and water bouncers:
We suggest the Power Egg Inflator, as these items do not require high-pressure pumps; they are low-pressure high volume products. Simply attach the hose into your Halkey-Roberts valve with the adapter, turn it on, and watch your Island Hopper inflate. This inflator is powered by a 110v wall plugin only. The product will work with any brand of water sports product with the Halkey- Roberts valve or universal inflatable boat valve.
Drop Stitch Water Platforms:
We suggest the PSI 15 Auto Set pump for all drop stitch water platforms. This pump is designed to get your products to 15 PSI. This pump clips to connect to your boat or car battery or with a plug that fits into your boat’s cigarette lighter. This pump will work for all inflatables but will just take longer than other high-volume pumps.
Check out our videos on how to find and repair holes on your inflatables. One video will show repairing with PVC patches and PVC adhesive for a more permanent repair. The second video will show how to use our quick-fix-patches for a fast quick repair that will last 24 – 48hrs of use before the permanent repair needs to be done.
